Let Someone Throw You a Pitch!

If you want to learn Listbuilding...

Let someone throw you a 'pitch'! A Marketing Pitch

That is - let someone 'pitch' their products to you, their information bytes and bits to you. Join a couple of other peoples' lists, then take a really, REALLY good look at how they present their eZine or Newsletter.

Though it is both unethical and ILLEGAL to copy another person's work, it is neither unethical nor illegal to pick up on good, solid information and style from other successful list-builders. If you refrain from exact copies of text, but take note of 'tactics' used in newsletters and eZines that keep YOU interested and reading along, you'll have a good idea about how to structure your own newsletter.

You won't be sued for, say, utilizing an interesting tactic of adding a joke at the bottom of your email newsletter - right before your website address signature, like 'So-and-so' Newsletter Editor/Writer did in the last newsletter you read.

You won't be sued for noticing that a certain writer has a method of grabbing reader attention by asking a question often, and you can start asking questions in your own Newsletter - every 250 or so words, if this has had an interesting effect on YOU as a reader. This may appeal to readers of YOUR Newsletter or eZine, as well. Use this 'tactic' if it SUITS YOU. Don't use it if something about this isn't 'you.'

You can use GOOD, GENERAL IDEAS from people without stealing their words.

Plagiarism is no joking matter.

Don't do it.

There is no need to STEAL OTHER PEOPLES' WORDS - especially when the best thing that you can do is promote YOU. Your very best bet is to develop your own, unique style of writing so that people on your list will begin to recognize each piece of text that you write personally - as YOURS. Within a short time, you want people to be saying 'Like so-and-so's style.'

You don't want people saying, "I read something that was like 'those marketing guys' whose Newsletters I signed up for."

Why be like everyone else?

Let someone 'PITCH' to you - read and absorb - then BE YOU by the end of it all.

Read Newsletters and eZines and see what stands out for you:

* What makes sense?
* What can you reasonably put into your own words?
* Can you explain an idea better than the idea you just read in the last Newsletter or eZine you read?
* Do you IDENTIFY with the 'style' and 'vocabulary' that someone else used in their writing?
* Did you find a bunch of plain and simple GARBAGE in the last eZine you read? If so, can you write down the correct information and educate readers of your own eZine?
* Did you learn anything from the last Newsletter you read - something that is a definite 'light bulb' or 'ah-hah' piece of information?
* Did you like the 'layout' of the Newsletter better than any other Newsletter you've seen before?
* What's the writer's 'pitch'? Can you find it? Can you find the EXACT SPOT where you started feeling like you MIGHT WANT TO BUY SOMETHING or follow a link or BELIEVE IN every word in the Newsletter?

These are all questions that you can likely satisfy by letting someone throw you a pitch!

These are all things that can also be REPLICATED successfully without plagiarizing.

One Of The Top Questions On The Net

How Do I Build A List?

How Do I Build A Big List? A really, really big list?

This is one of the top questions that people have online as they're starting to make money online and start their own online business.

So how DOES ONE build a list - a really, really big list?

Well - it won't be done fully overnight. Get excited about your new online business and about making money online, but please - PLEASE - be reasonable!

If you're new to internet earning methods, take some time to figure out what you really REALLY want out of your online business.

What are you willing to do - how much time are you willing to spend building your online business? How much money will you put forth to start your online business?

These questions need to be answered.

Meanwhile - luckily, you can begin building your list while you're fine-tuning your business plans and figuring out exactly where you want your business to go along online avenues.

I will put many free resources on this blog, but occasionally, I will definitely state where I think that money might need to be spent. There are slow ways and slower ways to earn money online. Doing everything with freebies is the slower way, but don't be discouraged because many people who do use free resources for many things are still making money online.

Not all free stuff is garbage...just be careful. Not all free stuff is what it's cranked out to be, either.

Well - just so you can get started, I'll post a link from one of the most popular and effective list-building sites out there - and then tell you a little about the program.

Your Lucky List

Now This program, Your Lucky List is free to join and has been around for several years. I don't think the program is going anywhere, either! There are hundreds of thousands of members using Your Lucky List and from working together, they help each other to build HUGE lists!

How do they help each other? Well - partly through the emails they send through the Your Lucky List system. Most people are using Your Lucky List to promote many other money making opportunities, so mailings alone through the Your Lucky List system can be very helpful for all members. Perhaps a netmarketer who is really successful will send you an email through the system once you're a member. This marketer's email may contain excellent information about some product, service, training or tool that you'll need in the near future (or, right away!) for promoting your online business.

Also - Your Lucky List has a built-in forum that you can access from your members area. Even free members can access this forum (warning, non-members simply CAN NOT get in, so don't try if you're not at least a free member!). Anyhow, within the forum, most people are willing to help 'newbies' in all sorts of ways with all kinds of business information and not just list-building. To be sure, as well - the creators of Your Lucky List will naturally be in the forum some of the time, so you might have a chance to ask the creators of Your Lucky List about certain things, too. How great is that?

I'll show you some examples of the special tools that Your Lucky List gives even for free members to use. I'll wait 'til the next post to do that, because I've already made this post long enough and I'm sure many readers are already checking out the site!

(*hint* The site has AWESOME Tools - Ready-made emails, banners, etc. - But enough of this for now).

For now - just check out the site and get to work on finishing up the 'thinking' part that I mentioned at the beginning of this post.

(You know - about - what do you really REALLY want out of your online business?)
